TASSO can assist you over the phone or, for something a bit more complex, like a whole committee training, come to you on-site anywhere around the state. Of course, we offer our services to you and your committee in the TASSO office in Hobart or online.
If you're unsure whether or not we are the people for you, please call us.
Teachers, principals and support staff would like to say a sincere “thank you” to parents and school communities for the tremendous support they have shown for the “Lifting Learning for every child” campaign.
Educators, who are members of the Australian Education Union, have been taking action to convince the government to act on urgently needed resources for schools such as more teachers, more support staff and smaller class sizes.
Students are missing out on the quality education they deserve because of teacher and other staff shortages.
Learning is being disrupted daily because teacher shortages cause collapsed classes, students are denied the individual attention they need; there are long waits for diagnosis and treatment from specialists such as school psychologists, social workers and speech pathologists.
The State Government had been ignoring pleas from educators for 15 months for more support and that’s why, reluctantly, they took stop-work action at the end of Term 3.
The Government has heard the message now, which is something, but it must be followed urgently by commitments to deliver - more teachers and teacher assistants, more professional support staff and other resources that enable educators to focus on their core job of teaching and learning.
