The Returning Officer is appointed by the Principal to manage the nomination and election (if required) process. The returning officer is often the School Business Manager, but not always.

Advertising the AGM

The AGM should be advertised at minimum 14 day prior to all your members. You can use social media, your school newsletter, or a school noticeboard that everyone can see. There is a editable file available here:

AGM Meetings

Annual General Meetings (AGMs) can be a little daunting, but they don’t need to be. Most School Associations are required to hold their AGM around March 31 each year.
