February Management Committee meeting
TASSO sincerely thanks the Honourable Jeremy Rockliff Minister for Education and Training for attending the Management Committee meeting held at Nixon Street Primary on 18th February.

Education Act 2016   
The Minister confirmed TASSO will receive additional funding to support the implementation of the Education Act over the next twelve months.  We are thankful for the extra funding which will enable us to increase our staff to two full time positions in the TASSO office for the next twelve months.

This will mean we are able to dedicate time to the implementation of the Education Act to assist parent groups in all state schools across Tasmania.  We will be announcing forums shortly in each region to explain the attached processes and answer questions about the Education Act changes.

Please keep an eye out for this upcoming information, TASSO will continue to work closely with the Department to ensure minimal disruption to parent groups occur.

The Parent and Community Engagement Officer is a casual position (20 hours/month) that will help to develop, promote and further the aims and objectives of TASSO through projects and continue to build and foster relationships with school associations, parent groups and individual parents across the state.
